Privacy Policy

ABENA A/S and MediSens are part of ABENA Company Group, hereinafter ABENA/MediSens.

ABENA respects the personal data of everybody, who uses our apps and web-apps or in any other way shares personal data with ABENA. Therefore, we want to inform you of how we process your personal data. We recommend that you read this Policy, so you become familiar with how ABENA handles your personal data.  

Who is processing your personal data?

ABENA A/S, Egelund 35, DK-6200 Aabenraa, CVR no. 25682742, is a data controller and responsible for processing your personal data.

What data do we collect?  

We primarily have 3 kinds of users (and corresponding data) in our system: 

  1. Caregiver or system user data.  
  1. End user Clients of institutions who sign up for product use. Clients are residents who wear our smart incontinence products and care is provided by the institutions. End user clients sign up for product use through consent and have the right to withdraw their consent at any time.
  1. Authorized support institutions. 

ABENA/MediSens collects the following data:  

  1. Clients of institution - Room number or Name entered by institution providing care, emiction data from WetSens smart incontinence product, attach/detach times of incontinence product.  Room number or Name is only visible to Caregiver roles in the system. Caregiver roles are assigned by institutions providing care or institutions providing the installation and support services. 
  1. Caregiver, Admins, Supervisors etc in Care provider institution - Name (Optional) and a valid email address is collected for providing secure login, password reset and other WetSens related services. This is intended to be the professional/institutional email id. 
  1. Sale, Support, Administration, Billing, and other reporting service providers - Name (Optional) and a valid email address is collected for providing secure login, password reset and other WetSens related services. This is intended to be the professional/institutional email id. 
  1. Optional tags - Caregivers are able to add optional tags for specific conditions as well as arbitrary tags for their own purpose. 

How do we collect your data?  

The data is provided by institutions who sign up caregivers and clients. 

Your institution directly provides ABENA with most of the data we collect. We do not directly sign up the end users. We collect data and process data when :  

 

ABENA/MediSens may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:  

• Your signup may be made by the Support organization which was requested to create credentials for you by your Institution.  

 

How will we use your data?  

The data is used to provide services under the WetSens™ system. These include notifications of when the incontinence product is wet, about to leak, detached etc. The email is used for secure login and to reset password. These are institutional logins and are expected to be institutional email addresses.

We do not sell customer data. 

How do we store your data? 

Data is stored in an encrypted database in respective geographic locations (EU data is stored in AWS, Frankfurt) 

The database and 7 day backups are encrypted with symmetrical encryption. These keys are only accessible to ABENA Data for hosting administration. The data access is via the web interface and access controlled with Role Based Authorization. 

 

ABENA/MediSens will keep your personal data for a time period as specified by your institution, default is 5 years after last use. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your personally identifiable data. 

 

We do not share your personal data with any third party. 

 

We do not contact you for marketing purposes. Our services are provided to your Institution. 

What are your data protection rights?  

In the EU, data protection rights are covered by EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679). 

ABENA/MediSens would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. 

As to ABENA Nova with MediSens, we do not have any social media, or social networking data. Only information we have is used to deliver the WetSens(™) services. 

 

Every user is entitled to the following:  

The right to access - You have the right to request ABENA/MediSens for copies of your personal data.  

The right to rectification - You have the right to request that ABENA/MediSens correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request ABENA/MediSens to complete information you believe is incomplete.  

 

The right to erasure - You have the right to request that ABENA/MediSens erase your personal data, under certain conditions.  

 

The right to restrict processing - You have the right to request that ABENA/MediSens restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.  

The right to object to processing - You have the right to object to ABENA/MediSens's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.  

The right to data portability - You have the right to request that ABENA/MediSens transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
